A hugely popular chat and VOIP client, Nimbuzz that supports multiple IM services, declared that it has crossed 100 million users.Windows Messenger, Yahoo!, Google Talk, Facebook, and Twitter are the multiple services that software supports in a single client. It permits users to chat with each other for free across different platforms. Users can call each other over the internet, chat, and share multimedia content.
Chat rooms are available in the Nimbuzz that allow users to meet new people around the world. Voice calling over VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is offered through NimbuzzOut, which is similar to Skype. With help of Nimbuzz subscribers can call other Nimbuzz users for free, and dial telephone numbers around the world for cheaper as compared to international phone-to-phone calling rates.
The software is compatible with multiple mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, and even J2ME for feature phones. Users can also download the PC client or use the browser-based version.
Nimbuzz claim to be the first "Indian" internet company to achieve such a success must be taken with bagfuls of salt. Originally firm was founded in the Netherlands in 2006 and two months ago they shifted its company headquarters to Gurgaon. In the contact us page of this website HQ's address conatins Netherlands. In such circumstances, the company's claim of being "Indian" seems merely to be a cheap and unnecessary publicity stunt.
