Facebook is now planning to buy the popular Opera mobile web browser. Few days back it has been reported that Facebook is making a Smartphone of its own to give users a better experience of the social network Opera Browser, acclaimed for its less bandwidth consuming nature, is supposed to be bought by Facebook and generate a Smartphone with near perfect integration of the social network. Opera Mini browser made by Opera’s has over 170 million users currently. The opera company is based out of Norway. It has been reported that Facebook has failed in making money from increased traffic to its platform from mobile phones and is trying to buy the mobile browser for $1 billion. The Facebook will get many benefits which are as follows:

• Opera will provide Facebook the ability to enhance its limited mobile experience and help them to make money from the surging mobile tariff.
• Facebook will be able to attract and retain developers who are exiting its platform for the lack of a mobile platform.
• Another factor is Opera extensive tie-ups with operators across the globe

Some analysts have also recommended that Facebook could also be buying Nokia or Blackberry maker RIM.
