
Acer will reveal its Windows 8-based tablet at Computex Taipei 2012 event. This event is going to take place during June 5-9. Most probably they will use Intel's Clover Trail platform in the tablet. It is good option for enterprise segment due to the inclusion of Intel chips. The tablet will offer support for legacy applications that companies use internally. ARM based architecture will also be supported by Windows 8 operating system.
It has been reported that may be Acer and other tablet manufacturers offer a range of tablets with both ARM based architectures (such as Nvidia Tegra and Qualcomm Snapdragon), and Intel processor based architectures. Tablets which are supported by the ARM architecture will be marketed as consumer tablets while on flip side Intel based will be sold as enterprise focused products. The tablet is likely to feature at least a 10 inch screen with high definition resolution. They will be available in September-October time frame. It has been reported that these Windows 8 based tablets won't be cheap since Microsoft's Windows 8 licensing fees will significantly raise production costs.
