Sony has officially unveiled AOSP version of Android 4.2 for its Xperia Z flagship. Presently, majority of the features of Xperia Z are working in the Android environment.  Those features include SD card support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and LED light and the sensors. The camera is also functioning without any fault, but its code is tested internally at the moment as it needs proprietary binaries which at present company cannot publish.

Sony assures that it will change some of the binaries with the original source code and release binaries for the NFC to work. The project by Sony Senior Engineers Johan Redestig and Björn Andersson is accessible for user to grab on the company's official GitHub repository.
