Until last week, Microsoft was not confirmed that Windows Blue was real. But now Microsoft has decided to confirm a new piece of information that Windows Blue will be known as Windows 8.1. However the latest information is that the update will be entirely free and will be out through the Window Store. Earlier, Microsoft has never charged for an incremental upgrade. For every Windows release, there are a series of “service packs”.  However, things are different with Windows 8. There is no information regarding when the update will be available. As per Microsoft,” It will release a public preview of the update on June 26th, which is the first day of Microsoft's Build 2013 developer’s conference.”   It is assumed that 8.1 will be announced in time for the holidays so that Microsoft can finally get into the booming 7-8 inch tablet market.

by Kamal Pathak 14. May 2013 15:30

In spite of the rumours that Samsung is considering a flexible screen for the Samsung GALAXY Note III, an investment firm in South Korea rule out that the display on the next version of Samsung’s phablet will be made of non-flexible glass. Korea Investment & Securities Co. anticipates that the device will feature a 6 inch AMOLED screen. According to a previous rumour, there was a 5.99 inch display for the Samsung GALAXY Note III. In a report to clients, the investment house says,” it does not believe that Samsung is ready to mass produce flexible OLED screens, and that the Korean based manufacturer needs more time to adopt it for the major models."  As per one report, Samsung Display plans on producing the flexible OLED screens at its A2 P3 line where only 24,000 screens can be at present produced in a month. Fellow Korean manufacturer LG had earlier declared that it would deliver a handset with a flexible display before the end of the year. However, it is also said to be having problems mass-producing the part. As a result, rumour is that LG will delay the launch of a Smartphone with a flexible display. Both Samsung and LG use different technologies in making their flexible screens. In Berlin at IFA 2013, Samsung GALAXY Note III might be launched. However, it is expected to be unveiled in the third quarter of this year.
