Tim Cook Unveils iOS 6 At Apple's WWDC 2012

At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 Tim Cook launched the iOS 6.Various key features includes Facebook integration and a brand new Maps application. Even there will be improvements in Siri, FaceTime, and Safari as well. The most important feature that has been added is Apple's own navigation software that will replace Google Maps. This app will offer turn-by-turn, voice guided navigation with real-time traffic updates. But there is no information that whether it will guide you in offline mode too. FB has been integrated throughout the UI in this iOS 6. It has been reported that Facebook events and friend details will also be integrated into Calendar and Contacts and even ask Siri to post your updates. Siri will now comprehend more languages including Chinese, Japanese, and French with iOS 6. But it is not sure that Siri will follow accents. This feature will also be introduced in the new iPad. This virtual assistant Siri has the ability to answer queries regarding sports, dining, and everything under the sun.
Even Apple is working with car manufacturers to integrate Siri into select voice control systems. You will be able to ask Siri questions without taking your eyes off the road by using this voice command button on your steering wheel. iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, new iPad, and 4th generation iPod Touch are the devices that are eligible for the new OS.
This product will be released later this year.

At Worldwide Developers Conference, San Fransisco, Apple launched the mobile device operating system iOS 6. Apple announced that there are more than 200 features and changes. Below is the list of the new features and changes.

Facebook:

  • Notification Center: Do not disturb toggle with fine-grain phone call exceptions, schedules, or allowing repeat calls.

Safari:

  • iCloud Tabs for Safari on other iOS devices and Macs
  • Offline Reading List
  • Smart App banners link to App Store or launches
  • Photo uploads
  • Full screen video in landscape

FaceTime:

  • Available over cellular
  • Apple ID unified with phone number, enabling FaceTime or iMessage answering on iPad or Mac
