Lenovo plans to launch Android tablet convertible

In this calendar year, Lenovo is planning to unveil a Google Android based convertible notebook-tablet. According to the DigiTimes reports, "The Company is planning to unveil Intel or ARM based convertible tablet running Android in the first half of this year. This convertible tablet would be mostly like the existing Asus Transformer Prime series tablet with keyboard dock".
Intel and Lenovo had planned to present tablets that would be based on Google Android operating system. It was expected that there were Intel Atom series mobile processor in these tablets. Lenovo was believe to present Intel Medfield based tablet last year but did not present for reasons not made public.
At present the company is planning to present a tablet with dockable keyboard bundled and will house the new powerful dual-core Intel Atom Clover Trail+ mobile processor inside. The tablet can be used standalone with the touchscreen display, without the keyboard dock. This new keyboard dock offers a full set of keys and also battery for extra run time. This tablet might be declared sometime in first half of this year.
The Asus Transformer series tablet truly performed outstandingly against the various other tablets unveiled at same pricing and specifications.  Lenovo plans to compete with Asus on same product front. With the improved hardware, the cost and eventually the selling price of the tablet also rises a bit. It is expected to see more tablets with keyboard dock bundled together.

Lenovo K900 skyrockets the mobile benchmarks

At the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in Las Vegas, USA, Lenovo had declared a 2 GHz Intel Atom housing IdeaPhone K900 handset. Noa TechAuthors blog has highlighted the benchmarks of Lenovo K900 on the AnTuTu Benchmark listing app.

The dual-core Intel Atom Clover Trail+ mobile processor is ready to compete with the existing quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 based mobile processors due later this year. It is expected that Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 will release post April in China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia and Philippines.

Intel to bring quad-core Atom processor for tablets by 2014

Intel plans to continue venturing out in mobile processor segment for the tablets with the next generation Atom. The next generation Intel Atom mobile processor will come up with the quad-core powered mobile processor for the tablets.
According to the MobileGeeks, “This next generation Intel Atom processors has been codenamed as Bay Trail-T platform and the processors under this platform have been codenamed as Valleyview-T.”
This new platform will consist of a 22nm manufacturing process made processor named as Valleyview-T. Bay Trail-T, meant specifically for the tablets is the successor to the Clover Trail platform targeted at the Windows and Android based tablets. The forthcoming Bay Trail-T platform will bring quad-core Valleyview-T mobile processors which can be clocked up to 2.1 GHz.  Higher memory capacities will be supported by this platform as well as  offer more memory bandwidth.
As compared to the Clover Trail platform, Bay Trail-T promises over three times the graphics performance. Intel will be utilize the Generation 7 graphics chip which will support full HD, 3D and DirectX 11 - that brings loads of PC games automatically on board with the Windows 8 Pro based tablets. The tablets based on Bay Trail-T platform will offer relative less stand-by time but commits battery life of over 11 hours. Intel Valleyview-T processors are likely to arrive only by early 2014.

Lenovo unveils two tablet-laptop hybrids

Lenovo has declared the two new tablets-IdeaPad Yoga 11 with Windows RT and IdeaPad Yoga 13 with Windows 8 operating system. Both are hybrid devices so they can function as tablets and as laptops. Out of these two tablet-notebook hybrid devices one runs on Windows RT (Windows on RAM) and other has full-fledged Windows 8 operating system. Lenovo is planning to sell IdeaPad Yoga 11 at price starting $799 from December onwards in the USA.

Lava Xolo 900 gets Ice Cream Sandwich update

Lava has declared the availability of Android 4.0 ICS update for its Intel processor based Xolo 900 Smartphone. Presently the phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
As stated by Lava,"We are pleased to announce that Android v4.0 ICS upgrade is now available on Xolo X900. We thank all our Xolo X900 customers for their patience and truly hope that the ICS upgrade will make your Smartphone experience even more enjoyable”.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update for Xolo X900 carries lots of new features such as  performance improvements, a new user interface, Face unlock feature, improved multi-tasking and browser as well as several other enhancements.
