Sony rolls out ICS for Xperia Go, U and Sola

Sony has declared the roll out of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for its Xperia Go, Xperia U and Xperia Sola Smartphone’s. The update is being rolled out worldwide and therefore the availability of the update will differ from country to country. It is expected that this update will be issued towards the end of the first week of October in India.
Before this there were some speculations that the ICS upgrade will be arrive in the month of September but Sony has delayed issuing the update for some unknown reason. With this update Sony commits a whole new experience to the customers of the Smartphone’s along with the upgraded operating system.
Separate from the update, a specific glove mode will be unveiled to the Xperia Sola smartphone which arrives with Sony's floating touch technology based display. With the help of this new mode, users can use their Xperia Sola while wearing gloves as well, thus there would not be any requirement of special conductive gloves.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 now available for prebooking in India

During Mobile World Congress, Samsung announced to launch Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 and finally it has been unveiled. Tablet will be available in US retail market. Users can pre book this device in India. Through the Samsung India e-store,users can register themselves by paying a small upfront booking amount of Rs 2,000.
From today the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is available in the USA market and will be coming very soon in other countries as well.  The 16 GB and 32 GB variants of the Galaxy Note 10.1 are priced at Rs 28,000 and 31,000 respectively.
Yet the official retail release date of the Galaxy Note 10.1 is not available but it is expected that by the end of this month the device will be made available. The users who prebook the Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) will get the complementary book cover along with the device. Unlike the previous Galaxy Note, the Note 10.1 does not have the calling functionality.  PLS technology has been used in device which allows users to show better colors, contrast and even wider screen viewing angles than the existing IPS technology based screens.

The tablet also features S Note, a tool that allows users combine notes or sketches together with web content, images and other digital media into their own personalized storyboards, something that is available on the original Galaxy Note device as well. By using the Shape Match function of Note 10.1 users can create more organized idea sketches and storyboards as well. This app is price at $9.99 or Rs 500 (approximately).

15 HTC phones to get Android ICS by Aug end

By the end of this month, HTC, the handset maker has declared to upgrade its 15 handsets to Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich. Previously, HTC was to upgrade its 17 phones to Android ICS.
Although, the Taiwanese handset maker ruled out ICS upgrade for its Desire HD Smartphone while rolling out the update for Incredible S some time back. But till now it had kept mum on the remaining 15 handsets.
In a reply to a question on the Facebook page about when the HTC Thunderbolt would receive Ice Cream Sandwich.  Company stated "Yes, the Thunderbolt is still set to receive ICS. We're still planning to finish updates for all announced devices by the end of August. Thanks for remaining so patient!"
In India out of these 15 phones only 6 are available .which includes HTC Sensation, Sensation XL and XE, Desire S, HTC Rhyme and EVO 3D.
Meanwhile HTC has announced that it will push Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for its HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S.

Lenovo releases ICS upgrade for Ideapad K1

Lenovo , PC and mobile equipment manufacturer has finally declared  the roll out of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich for its IdeaPad K1 tablet. Last year Lenovo had unveiled the 10 inch tablet based on Google's Android Honeycomb 3.0 operating system. It was expected that Lenovo will be announcing the upgrade sometime earlier this year, the company has been delayed in the release of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the IdeaPad K1. Although the upgrade comes really late as compared to most device manufacturers but ultimately Lenovo hasn't forgotten the users. 
Through the Lenovo forums the ICS upgrade has now been made available for the IdeaPad K1 and is available for customers who only want to upgrade their devices and is not mandatory for anyone.
As stated by Lenovo "Lenovo is providing a basic non-customised, region-independent release of Android 4.03 aka Ice Cream Sandwich for customers who wish to install this OS on their IdeaPad K1 Tablet systems," 
This release differs from the factory-installed Honeycomb 3.1 release and subsequent OTA (Over The Air) updates to Honeycomb 3.2. It does not include Lenovo customizations such as the launcher, pre-installed apps or an app store, nor the underlying framework.
IdeaPad K1 feature includes:
• 1280 x 800 pixel display
• 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor
• 1 GB of RAM
• Both front and rear cameras
• WiFi
This launch is not suggested for the casual or mainstream user who is unfamiliar with the Android OS and customisation process. The source code, which may be of additional value to the developer community, will be made available shortly. Further to this OTA updates are not planned for launch on the Lenovo K1 IdeaPad tablet.

Sony's Tablet P gets Android ICS upgrade

Sony, Japanese consumer electronics giant has unveiled the availability of Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) upgrade for its Tablet P. Sony has been criticized for rolling out the ICS upgrade quite late for its devices as compared to other manufacturers. Sony had announced the ICS upgrade rollout for its Sony Tablet S earlier this year. From today onwards, this upgrade will be made available for the Sony Tablet P globally including India. The upgrade has just been received by the Sony Tablet P users in the UK and it is expected that upgrade will be made available to other users across the globe soon enough as Sony has not made any regarding a restricted roll out of the ICS upgrade for Tablet P.

ICS Features

The latest Android ICS operating system upgrade will bring a bundle of new features. A new interface which will come with an all new lock screen and 'unlock direct to camera' option is one of the new feature. Panorama mode is also the important thing which has been enabled with the upgrade and users can now take wider single shots in one go with the tablet's camera. Users can now get direct access to notifications and settings. New browser has also been added to the device now for faster web browsing. This new updation bring the native screen shot taking functionality which has the ability to take a screen shot just by pressing power and volume keys at the same time.

After that click OK to download and in a few minutes you should be ready to go on Android 4.0.
