'Money on Mobile' launches mobile payment service in India

New mobile wallet service has been launched by My Mobile payments ltd (MMPL) in India. This service can be used by customer of any mobile operator or bank (you don't need be with any bank at all). It is known as 'Money on Mobile' or MoM, which can be used by mobile subscribers to make bill payments, purchase goods and services without the need of cash, cheque or credit/debit card. And can load their mobile phones with cash of various denominations starting from Rs 20, at retail touch point of MoM. After that this virtual amount can be used to top up any prepaid mobile or DTH, or pay postpaid bills, utility bills such as electricity, gas, buy airline, bus, and movie tickets etc.
Since 2012 this service is available to business users and now the consumer version is being launched.  MMPL claims to have a network of 82,000 retailers (touch point) across 300 cities in India. Already 5 lakh customers are doing transactions worth Rs 2 crore every day with Money on Mobile. This service can be used through SMS based platform so the customers don’t need to buy high end device to use this service. Many banks as well as mobile operators have already launched mobile wallet services in the country. Lets see how this MoM can take on the might of these biggies. Till now the company has not announced any additional benefits apart from the convenience from using this service. Airtel has already tied up with many merchants to offer discounts to Airtel money users.

Tim Cook Unveils iOS 6 At Apple's WWDC 2012

At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 Tim Cook launched the iOS 6.Various key features includes Facebook integration and a brand new Maps application. Even there will be improvements in Siri, FaceTime, and Safari as well. The most important feature that has been added is Apple's own navigation software that will replace Google Maps. This app will offer turn-by-turn, voice guided navigation with real-time traffic updates. But there is no information that whether it will guide you in offline mode too. FB has been integrated throughout the UI in this iOS 6. It has been reported that Facebook events and friend details will also be integrated into Calendar and Contacts and even ask Siri to post your updates. Siri will now comprehend more languages including Chinese, Japanese, and French with iOS 6. But it is not sure that Siri will follow accents. This feature will also be introduced in the new iPad. This virtual assistant Siri has the ability to answer queries regarding sports, dining, and everything under the sun.
Even Apple is working with car manufacturers to integrate Siri into select voice control systems. You will be able to ask Siri questions without taking your eyes off the road by using this voice command button on your steering wheel. iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, new iPad, and 4th generation iPod Touch are the devices that are eligible for the new OS.
This product will be released later this year.

Apple App Store passes 30 billion downloads mark, $5 billion paid to developers

Tim Cook, CEO Apple has declared that iOS App Store has passed the 30 billion download milestone.  More than 650 000 apps are available at the Apple store out of which 225 000 of them specifically designed for the iPads. There are also 400 million App Store accounts from 120 countries around the world with attached credit cards to them.  With the help of these applications developers have earned more than $5 billion. The application store is being launched in 32 more countries around the world.
