Google's support for Windows Phone is in shambles. But it has been reported that Google is working on a Chrome browser for Windows 8 that should work on some tablets. Today Google announced the next dev channel release of its Chrome browser which will have integration with Windows 8, including snap view and charms. There are new universal buttons at the Charms that slide out from the right side of the screen which includes Search, Share, Devices, Settings, and Start. With the Windows 8 integration the Chrome browser will look pretty nice. This version of Chrome is being constructed especially for desktops and laptops. It will not be available on Windows RT (ARM devices). Microsoft doesn't want competition on ARM devices so there will be some tablets that won't be able to run the app. There are Windows 8 devices which include Asus Transformer Book, or Asus Tablet 810 that will be compatible with Chrome.

Research In Motion (RIM) has decided to discontinue the cheapest variant of its BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet. Now the company will only manufacture 32 GB and 64 GB variants of the tablet. These 32 GB and 64 GB models of the BlackBerry PlayBook will continue to be available from our distributors and retailers around the world. The reason for discontinuation of the 16 GB variant of BlackBerry Playbook is the upcoming 4G variant. It has been stated by RIM's chief executive officer that 4G version of the BlackBerry PlayBook is due for a launch before the end of this year. This 4G version of the BlackBerry PlayBook will feature 1.5 GHz processor along with faster graphic processor. The features and display will remain same as 7 inch capacitive one with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution.

Survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners founded that the number of customers switching from Android and BlackBerry handsets to the iPhone has continued to increase. Approximately 29% of iPhone users in February had switched from an Android or BlackBerry device according to the previous survey.  In April 38% of iPhone buyers were previously Android or BlackBerry owners, and 73% purchased the iPhone 4S over an older iPhone model. The users that are switching to Apple’s Smartphone are high in amount than iPhone 4S first launched. The market share of AT&T’s iPhone has fallen from 53% to 51%. According to the latest report Sprint’s share dropped from 13% to 12% but Verizon’s market share increased from 34% to 37%.
