Indian Smartphone internet users out beat US counter parts

A recent survey has revealed a surprising fact that Indians accessing Internet from their smartphones out number their US counterparts.  It is reportedly said that the survey revealed that nearly 56 percent of Indian smartphone users accessed Internet multiple times in a day as compared to 53 percent in the US. To the reader’s surprise, there is a total of 245 million smartphone users in the USA. On the other hand, India has even less than half of smartphone users in the US.

In addition, the survey had a few surprises in store revealing that the usage of smart phone between the age group of 18- 29 is the highest. It is found, the phone is no longer just a means of communication by making calls and sending sms, while people today use their smartphones to search, follow news, watch TV, and listen to music, connecting with family & friends.

Stats revealed, almost 75percent of the smartphone users regularly visit Social Networking sites; 54 percent in the USA, while 81 percent of Indians check their email. Moreover, Indians have always been deeply attached to such socializing. As a result, even some companies started worrying about the same.

Another key mobile insight that has been revealed by the survey is that 97 percent of smartphone owners are heavy users while at home.

After Kolkata, Airtel launches 4G in Bengaluru

After the launch of 4G services in Kolkata, Bharti Airtel today launched its 4G services in India's IT hub - Bengaluru. This Airtel 4G service will allow superfast access to High Definition (HD) video streaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and much more.  It has been reported that Airtel is the only operator that gives access to whole spectrum of broadband services including 2G, 3G and now 4G in Bengaluru. It will give the enhanced customer experience. It has the faster speed than 3G connections as well as can go upto 100 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload speeds.

For usage of Airtel 4G services you have to purchase Airtel's 4G dongle or the wireless router. The monthly plans are for

  • 6GB- Rs 999
  • 9GB- Rs 1399
  • 18GB- Rs 1999
  • 30GB- Rs 2999

Airtel is offering discounts of Rs 7,999 over a period of 24 months and 12 months respectively for last two options.  Even the Airtel has declared 10 Bollywood movie titles free of cost during the first month. The company has already launched its services in Kolkata and Bengaluru and still working hard for rolling out state-of-the-art networks in remaining licence circles which includes Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai) circles.

Sony to launch Xperia U in India this week

After the launch of Xperia S Smartphone, Sony is set to unveil new Xperia handset to India. This new Sony Smartphone, Xperia U is expected to be launched on May 10. The online stores which include Flipkart and Lets Buy have started pre-booking orders for the Xperia U. Still the price of this phone is not officially announced but both the online retailers are accepting pre-booking orders for the Xperia U for Rs 16,499 and Rs 17,399 respectively. This also has access to Sony's Entertainment Network that permits the users to watch the Video or listen to millions of songs. Under its screen it has the transparent bar that enhances the visuals significantly.

Leaked slide tells 'Screen Sharing' feature coming to BlackBerry 10

When Research In Motion (RIM) rolled out the BlackBerry 10 OS and its few features to us we were indeed blown away with them. Now Research in motion is going to unveil the new feature known as Screen sharing feature which may pop up at the final launch.
This information has come out from the leaked slides, which were for the internal use of RIM and was quite confidential. These slides showed how the BB10 user can share their devices’ screen with a fellow user while being on a call. This is the exciting feature which helps to share photos and give presentations from a distant place. BlackBerry 10 includes the combination of features like SMS, Email and BBM into a single Inbox, Predictive full QWERTY keyboard and Camera app.
