97% Indians use smartphones more at home: Survey

A recent survey conducted by Google stated a third of Indian Smartphone users watch TV on their Smartphone. Approximately 77 per cent users listen to the music on their Smartphone’s followed by almost half of the Smartphone users in India use their device to access internet on their device. It has been reported that 78% of Smartphone’s users indulge in searching from their device and 35% of users read newspapers, book and magazines or watch TV. The survey also added that 33% of users enjoy playing games on the Smartphone.
There was popular belief that people use Smartphone for entertainment while on the move but the reports stated that 97 per cent Indian users use Smartphone while at home. This survey has indicated that Indians are technology curious and device savvy and they have restated our belief in 'mobile first'. Internet like telephony is making the leap from wired internet to mobile and hundreds of millions of Indians will access internet on their mobile devices. Google is building powerful, simple, personable mobile ecosystem which will help users o get connected whenever they want.

BB OS 7 devices cannot be upgraded to BB OS 10: RIM CEO

RIM had unveiled its further plans for the OS a day before yesterday by showing off the BlackBerry OS 10. As soon as the BlackBerry users started using new BlackBerry OS 7 the company disclosed its further plan.
Now the question arises that can the devices with OS 7 be update to OS 10? Well the answer to this question is you can’t.
It has been stated by CEO of RIM that the company has no upgrade plans for the BlackBerry OS 7 devices. Both the platforms will be bifurcated from each other. OS 7 wil be available for the low-end and entry level handsets while on other hand new OS will be for high end devices.
This year next generation BlackBerry OS will be unveiled will also be hitting the BlackBerry PlayBook. Let’s hope that some good looking devices are launched.

Google integrates automatic message translation with Gmail

There is good news for Gmail users that now they can communicate with people who speak different languages, as announce roll-out of an automatic translation feature. Gmail will automatically translate your message in other language by just clicking on the translate button in the header. This automatic translation feature enables you to reply in the native language of sender. As revealed by product manager for Google Translate, Jeff Chin, automatic message translation is one of the most popular features of lab.
"We heard immediately from Google Apps for Business users that this was a killer feature for working with local teams across the world," as written by Chin in a blog post.  If you don’t want to translate your stuff, what you need to do is just click on turn off button. Users need to click always translate button if they want make translate feature permanent. In addition to this Google has also rolled out two new features- title tweaks and smart mute. With the help of title tweak option users can make changes in the text in the browser tab. Smart Mute feature helps you keep e-mail threads out of your inbox.

Facebook Messenger with video calling coming for iPad

New messenger application for iPad, iPhone is being developed by Facebook. This application will also have the video calling feature. This application will have different features like one-to-one chat, group chatting, push notifications, locations mapping for a friend etc.
iPad users now have the video facility which will help them to engage into one-to-one video chat with other Facebook users. This feature is also being tested for the iPhone.  The new updated Facebook Messenger app for the iPhone, iPad with video chat feature might get release.  Facebook application for new iPad was released last month.
