Stricter mobile phones radiation norms from Sept

As the government has now made it obligatory for Indian and International manufacturers to show radiation level on the devices so the usage of mobile phones in India will soon become much secure. It has been reported that all mobile phones which will be in the market after September 1 this year will now have a tag showing SAR information on them. This is applicable for both international as well as Indian origin based handset manufacturers. The fixed SAR level is set for Mobile Handsets by The Department of Telecommunications i.e. 1.6 Watt/Kg. According to the government instructions, all the manufacturers have to make the necessary changes in the design, software and packaging in compliance with the instructions.
Researchers have suggested that these radiations from mobile phones can cause cancer. Still there are some doubts on the exact effect of mobile phone radiation on humans.
This step taken by the government can be seen as more of a preventive step.

Next Sony Smartphone may have dual physical keyboards

Sony is going to unveil next Smartphone with two physical keypads - one for gaming and other one for comfortable typing. A patent filed by Sony in October 2010 suggests a Smartphone with two different keyboards and was discovered by Engadget.  Now the company is working on a device that is alike to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play but with an additional keyboard. Ome Keyboard is designed especially for gaming with controls similar to that of Xperia Play and another one is additional QWERTY keypad that can be used by the user for comfortable typing and alphabet punching.
On the basis of which patent was filed, company seems to have no progress on this concept device. Since company has alienated from Ericsson it is looking forward to creative devices like the Sony Tablet P. From the beginning Sony is known for great designs and this is another example of its world class imagination. Sony now has to focus more on slimness of the device as the size of Smartphone’s has become a big selling point these days.

BlackBerry 10 based device spotted

BlackBerry manufacturer RIM (Research In Motion) has announced to release first Smartphone with BlackBerry 10 OS in the fourth quarter of current year. The company is simultaneously working on the design and application development. The images of BlackBerry 10 Alpha Developer device have been posted by a user named Trippin on CrackBerry forums.
The first BlackBerry Alpha Developer device is specially meant for the software developers to create, load and test applications on it.The device looks are very appealing as it seems to be a compressed PlayBook tablet without any home button. Its design and appearance is also very close to that of PlayBook. One should note that this model is just an Alpha Development testing device and not a commercial unit. The design of the original device with BlackBerry 10 OS will be totally different from this testing device. Since most of the Smartphones are offering capacitive home or menu buttons, so one thing worth pondering is whether RIM will add a physical home button on it or not. RIM has not announced a particular date to launch first Blackberry 10 based device.

LG to make more Android devices than Windows Phone

LG, Korean consumer electronics super brand has received very poor responses for the devices with the Microsoft platform. So they have decided to take one step back from the Windows Phone mobile operating system. It has been stated that in near future LG will no longer announcing Windows Phone Devices and they will be focusing more on Android based devices. But LG is not completely splitting up with Windows Phone rather they will continue with research and development works on the Microsoft mobile platform. Hope we see more LG Windows Phone products in future.
Share of Windows based phones amount only about 2 per cent of LG's total mobile phone shipments globally. For Windows Phone based products manufactured by LG devices of Nokia, which is emerging as a big player for the Windows Phone devices, and that of brands like HTC seem to be a potential danger.
