
Last month, we had tipped you about Micromax's unannounced tablet making its way to an online store. Finally, the manufacturer has officially entered the tablet market by launching the funbook. According to the company, this tablet will offer both education and entertainment content in an affordable package. Android fans will be pleased to know that the device runs the latest Android 4.0 (ICS) out of the box. Despite being affordable, the slate has decent specs. It packs in a 1.2 GHz CPU, and has 512 MB of RAM. It feature a 7" capacitive screen with pixel dimensions of 800x480. Other than that it comes with Wi-Fi, front VGA camera, HDMI port, 4 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, USB-OTG, and a 2800 mAh battery. Additionally, it comes bundled with a TATA PHOTON 3G dongle to keep you connected on the go. Micromax claims that it's the first tablet which has been developed and made in India.
To justify the device's tagline that says, "Pass hoga, timepass bhi hoga", Micromax has on offer, more than 500 smart courses for student ranging from primary school to degree sections. It also gives access to hundreds of movies along with live TV. The funbook is priced at Rs 6500 and can be ordered online from company's official website. However, the educational material costs Rs 800 extra for each class. The company is also offering cash on delivery option and a one year warranty.
